Ok, my people and the rest of you here we go, an opportunity. Immigrant database failed to detect suspect before rape of young girl.
Everyone's worst nightmare: illegal, gang member, don't know where he's at, rapist. More ammunition for anti immigrant America who want us all out of here. And in this case I don't blame them. WTF, how does this happen? I am sure Bin Laden could explain it to us.
But here is an opportunity for my fellow Mojados, compañeros, and supporters. This desgraciado is hiding amongst his own people and our community is helping hide him. Even if you aren't going to turn him in because you are afraid of getting involved, you are helping him and his ilk.
Latinos should unite and help hunt this dude down and turn him over to la poli. Here is our community's chance to prove we are American and we are helping make this a better and safer America. We need Espanglish Facebook and Twitter pages searching him out. C'mon raza...show our fellow Americans that we are law abiding and do not tolerate such horrible crimes even from our own.

Torn on this post...
Part of me wants to say, right on.
Part of me wants to say, "hey, wait, most rapists are white dudes, and nobody says 'Bubba, turn in yo' daddy and prove y'alls a good American.'"
We have to be pragmatic in an insane world. You and I both know that there is not one Latino, Hispanic, Hispano community.
Nonetheless, every protest in favor of immigrant rights, the Dream Act etc...is demanding something. But we are offering nothing in return (besides hardworking people who do pay taxes). I think this one is easy, but yet influential. Help catch this thug and prove yet again that this community is a law abiding and very acculturated segment of US society.
For me I have had to prove that I am an American since 5th grade when my classmates began calling me a wetback, etc. And even in the in the 21st century every now and then I have to remind my fellow Americans that I am a US citizen. So for immigrants and their children I don't think this is necessarily a stretch.
